HUUM vs Harvia: the difference shopping around actually makes
Both brands are sold by all seven US sauna retailers. Harvia is the more widely stocked and the less price-disciplined; on HUUM, half the catalog is the same price everywhere.

Comparisons of HUUM and Harvia normally come down to taste — the HIVE and DROP against the Cilindro and Legend, Estonian design against the Finnish incumbent. That argument is well covered elsewhere and we are not going to add to it.
What is not covered anywhere is the part you can only see by pricing both brands across every retailer at once: how much your choice of store changes what you pay. For these two brands the answer is different, and it is different in a way that should change how you shop.
Both are everywhere; Harvia is deeper
Neither brand sells direct to US consumers, so a retailer is the only route to either. All seven retailers we track carry both.
| HUUM | Harvia | |
|---|---|---|
| Retailers carrying it | 7 of 7 | 7 of 7 |
| Distinct products across all catalogs | 1,069 | 1,017 |
| Products carried by 2+ retailers | 107 | 160 |
| Median price of a cross-listed product | $859 | $1,092 |
| Deepest single catalog | Sauna Place, 170 | Sauna Place, 524 |
The headline similarity hides the practical difference. Harvia's range at a given retailer is typically much deeper — Sauna Place lists 524 Harvia products against 170 HUUM — and Harvia is the brand more likely to be carried by several retailers at once. That matters because cross-listing is what gives you anything to compare.
Harvia prices move more
| HUUM | Harvia | |
|---|---|---|
| Identically priced at every retailer | 50% | 44% |
| Median spread on a cross-listed product | $0 | $16 |
| Largest spread we found | $325 | $658 |
Half of HUUM's cross-listed catalog is the same price everywhere, to the dollar. For Harvia it is 44%, the median product carries a $16 spread, and the worst case is roughly twice HUUM's.
Neither of these is a big spread in absolute terms, and that is the useful finding: on a heater from either brand, shopping around is usually worth tens of dollars, not hundreds. This is genuinely unlike the cabin market, where the same Auroom unit can differ by $7,340 between two retailers.
Where the real money is on both brands
The exception, on both brands, is components. Controls, chimney kits, water heaters and heat shields are where the advertised-price line is weakest, and where one retailer runs a standing discount of 16% on Harvia and 19% on HUUM.
That is where the $200-and-up differences live. The HUUM UKU Local control unit is $859 at one retailer and $1,062 at three others — a 19% gap on a part most HUUM buyers need.

Harvia's equivalent gaps sit on stoves and chimney parts rather than controls, and its main electric heaters mostly hold their line. The Cilindro Half is identical at six retailers in 6 kW and varies at exactly one retailer in 8 and 9 kW.

So which should you buy
We are not going to tell you, because nothing in this data speaks to it. Heat quality, stone capacity, controller behaviour and how a heater looks in a small cabin are the things that should decide it, and none of them are in a price feed.
What the data does say is how to buy, once you have chosen:
- On the heater itself, expect little variation on either brand. Half of HUUM and 44% of Harvia is fixed everywhere. Do not spend an evening on it.
- On controls and components, always check more than one retailer. This is where the 16–19% gaps are, on both brands, and they are on items you will buy alongside the heater rather than instead of it.
- Match on the part number, not the product title. 88% of cross-listed products are titled differently by different stores, and one Harvia heater carries six distinct names.
What these figures are
Advertised prices and product counts from each retailer's own published catalog on 29 July 2026, matched on manufacturer part numbers. They exclude freight. "Distinct products" counts part numbers across all seven catalogs, so it includes accessories and variants, not just heaters. More on our methodology, including how we make money.
